BROCKTON — Brockton police arrested a 60-year-old man and seized fentanyl, a stolen handgun and other drugs during a search warrant execution Thursday.

Scott Pierce was taken into custody at 433 West Elm Street following an investigation into an alleged fentanyl distribution operation, according to the Brockton Police Department.

Detectives, assisted by patrol officers and Massachusetts State Police, recovered a handgun reported stolen from Dighton, along with quantities of fentanyl and other unspecified drugs.

Pierce faces multiple drug and weapons charges, police said.

The exact charges were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities said the arrest disrupted a fentanyl distribution ring allegedly run by Pierce.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released further details about the quantity of drugs seized or the scope of the operation.
