Woman faces multiple felony charges after turning herself in to Portsmouth police

PORTSMOUTH — Jazmin Diaz Barrientos, a 23-year-old resident of Newmarket, turned herself in to authorities on an arrest warrant yesterday.

Barrientos is facing a series of charges, including Second Degree Assault, two counts of Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, Reckless Conduct, two counts of Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.

The Portsmouth Police Department released Barrientos on personal recognizance bail following her surrender.

She is slated for arraignment at the Portsmouth 10th Circuit District Court, where she will respond to the felony and misdemeanor charges.

Authorities have expressed their gratitude to community members for their cooperation in the investigation, which remains active.

The Portsmouth Police Department has issued a call for further assistance, encouraging anyone with information pertinent to the case to contact Officer Nicholas Young.

Additional video evidence of the incident is also being sought by the police.
