MANCHESTER — Police responded to a fireworks violation early Thursday morning after receiving multiple noise complaints near Massabesic Lake.

At around 12:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to Lake Shore Road where they discovered fireworks in the middle of the street and remnants still emitting smoke.

Five individuals, including two adults and three minors, were found at the scene.

The adults received citations for violating the city’s fireworks ordinance, while the juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.

Authorities have noted an uptick in illegal fireworks complaints in recent months, particularly around Island Pond Road and Lake Shore Road.

With the Fourth of July holiday on the horizon, Manchester police are intensifying patrols and enforcement efforts to curb the unlawful use of fireworks.

Residents are reminded that setting off fireworks within Manchester city limits is prohibited.
