LONDONDERRY — A routine response to a report of a driver slumped over the wheel turned into a high-speed pursuit on June 30, leading to the arrest of a Tilton man by the Londonderry Police Department.

At approximately 12:57 p.m., officers from the LPD, alongside Londonderry Fire Department personnel, were dispatched to the intersection of Raymond Wieczorek Drive and Pettengill Road after a 911 caller expressed concern about a driver who had been unresponsive for an extended time.

Upon LFD’s arrival, the driver, later identified as Thomas Lane, 52, regained consciousness but abruptly drove away at a high rate of speed.

LFD relayed crucial information about Lane’s vehicle to the police.

Officer MacDonald, on patrol at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, located the vehicle in the Executive Health and Sports Center parking lot a short time later.

Lane was once again found slumped over the wheel.

As Officer MacDonald attempted to engage with him, Lane fled the scene.

The ensuing chase led LPD officers into Manchester, with Lane navigating through several side streets before stopping on Faith Lane.

Lane was apprehended and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Operation, and Disobeying an Officer.

An inspection of Lane’s vehicle revealed he had been inhaling Ultra Duster canned air prior to the incident.
