Springfield man arrested for alleged DUI at boat landing

SPRINGFIELD — A New Hampshire man faces charges of driving under the influence after police say they found him loading his boat onto a trailer while intoxicated early Thursday morning.

Michael Antonivich was arrested at approximately 12:17 a.m. on June 27 at the Springfield Boat Landing, according to a press release from the Springfield Police Department.

Officers Singleton and Callahan were on patrol when they observed a person loading a boat onto a trailer around 12:03 a.m., police said.

Upon making contact, they identified the individual as Antonivich.

After an investigation, police determined Antonivich was allegedly operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and planning to drive to his residence in New Hampshire.

Antonivich was taken into custody without incident and processed.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on July 9 to answer to the alleged charge of driving under the influence.

The Springfield Police Department noted that matters of bail and incarceration are handled by the judicial system, including judges, court clerks and the state attorney’s office.
