LEICESTER — Vermont State Police have cited a Whiting man on suspicion of sexual assault following an investigation into an incident that occurred earlier this month.

Carson Bertrand, 20, is accused of having nonconsensual sexual contact with an adult victim on June 4 in Leicester, according to a statement from the Vermont State Police.

Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations at the New Haven Barracks began investigating the case on June 10.

After completing their inquiry, they determined there was probable cause to charge Bertrand with sexual assault.

On June 28, authorities issued Bertrand a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on July 3 to face the charge.
