Suspect in custody for Roxbury restaurant arson

BOSTON — Detectives from the Boston Police Fire Investigation Unit apprehended Prasidda Baruwal, 23, of Everett, on Saturday morning in connection to a fire at The Squealing Pig restaurant in Roxbury.

Baruwal was arrested at about 8:30 a.m. after an investigation linked him to the blaze that damaged the eatery located at 134 Smith St.

Authorities have charged Baruwal with arson of a commercial building, breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, and destruction of personal property.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The motive for the arson has not yet been disclosed by officials.
