RICHFORD — A Richford man was arrested Saturday evening for violating an abuse prevention order and damaging property, Vermont State Police reported.

Jamie Mason, 36, allegedly breached a Final Order for Relief from Abuse by making contact with Evelyn Therrien, 32, around 5:43 p.m. on Playground Road.

Mason was also accused of causing damage to Therrien’s vehicle.

During the investigation, authorities found that Mason had additional conditions of release that explicitly prohibited him from contacting Therrien.

Following the investigation, Mason was apprehended and taken to the St. Albans Barracks for processing.

Mason is facing charges for violation of the abuse prevention order, violation of conditions of release, and unlawful mischief.

The court ordered Mason to be held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on a $1,500 bail.

Mason is scheduled to appear in the Franklin County Court – Criminal Division on July 1 at 1 p.m.
