BERLIN — A child abducted from North Carolina was found safe in Berlin last night, officials reported.
The Berlin Police Department assisted the Norwood Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Clinton Police Department in the search for the missing child.
According to authorities, the Berlin Police responded to a call for assistance and successfully located the child, who was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The Berlin Fire & EMS Department also provided support during the incident.
The suspect was apprehended by Berlin officers and taken to the Berlin Police Station for booking on a fugitive from justice charge.
The arrest occurred without any reported incidents.
The Berlin Police Department expressed gratitude for the cooperation and aid of all departments involved in the safe recovery of the child.
