Road rage incident leads to assault charge in Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE — A St. Johnsbury man faces a simple assault charge following a road rage incident in Lyndonville last month.

Damyon Norway, 32, was cited for allegedly assaulting Darren Betts, 46, also of St. Johnsbury, on May 13 at approximately 5:56 p.m. on Broad Street, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers responded to reports of a road rage altercation and found that Norway had confronted Betts outside their vehicles, leading to the alleged assault.

Norway was issued a citation on June 26 and is scheduled to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 19 at 8:30 a.m.

The incident remains under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
