Man arrested for crank calls, another for failure to appear by RI state police

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police made two arrests Tuesday on separate warrants.

At 7:57 a.m., troopers arrested Eric Murawski, 52, of Attleboro, Mass., on an arrest warrant for crank or obscene phone calls.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation by Trooper Sherrill at the Scituate barracks.

Murawski was processed at state police headquarters and taken to Third District Court for arraignment as a bail violator.

In a separate incident at 11:38 p.m., troopers arrested Esteban Valencia, 49, of Providence, R.I., on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of breaking and entering from the Providence Police Department.

Valencia’s arrest occurred during a motor vehicle stop on Academy Avenue in Providence.

He was processed at state police headquarters and transported to the Men’s Intake Center.
