Fugitive from Oregon arrested at Derby Line border crossing

DERBY LINE — A 56-year-old Oregon man was arrested Friday at the Interstate 91 Port of Entry after customs officials discovered he was wanted on an out-of-state warrant.

Lonny Walker of Wilsonville, Oregon, was taken into custody by Vermont State Police around 4 p.m. on June 28 after U.S.

Customs and Border Protection agents detained him at the border crossing, authorities said.

Officials said Walker was wanted on a warrant from New Hampshire.

State police did not provide details about the nature of the warrant.

Walker was transported to Northern State Correctional Facility and is being held on a charge of fugitive from justice, according to police.

The arrest occurred as Walker was attempting to enter Vermont from Canada at the Derby Line border crossing.
