MONTVILLE — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a driver who damaged a town-owned field by performing “donuts” with their vehicle on June 22.
The incident occurred at 7:40 p.m. when the operator of a small maroon pickup truck, believed to be either a Toyota Tacoma double cab (2005-2015 model) or a Toyota Tundra (2003-2007 model), drove onto the field and caused multiple ruts.
Montville Police Sgt. Stuart said the damage will require repairs by the public works department, diverting resources from other projects and incurring additional costs for taxpayers.
“This has been an ongoing issue,” Stuart said.
The vehicle in question has a toolbox in the truck bed, according to police.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the operator or vehicle to contact the Montville Police Department at 860-848-7510 and ask for Sgt. Stuart.
