GROTON — Police in Groton are seeking the public’s help to locate a 2-year-old child believed to be with her mother in a black Honda Civic.

The City of Groton Police Department issued a Silver Alert on Saturday after determining a welfare check was needed for the child.

The vehicle was last seen in the Groton area at 5:08 p.m. on June 24.

Authorities are searching for a black Honda Civic with Connecticut license plate BN82240.

While the child is thought to be in her mother’s custody, police have reason to believe a welfare check is necessary.

Officials have not released the names of the child or mother.

The police department asks anyone with information about the vehicle’s whereabouts to contact them at 860-445-2451.
