GRANVILLE — Vermont State Police arrested a 24-year-old Granville man Tuesday evening on charges of domestic assault.
Authorities responded to a call on VT RT 12A at 6:45 p.m. where they determined Jolan Stambaugh had instilled fear of pain and injury in two domestic partners.
Stambaugh fled the scene before troopers arrived, prompting an extensive search that initially proved unsuccessful.
Later that evening, Stambaugh returned to his residence, where state police took him into custody.
Following his arrest, Stambaugh was processed at the Royalton barracks.
He received conditions of release and a citation to appear before the Addison County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to respond to the charges.
The Vermont State Police withheld the names of the victims, adhering to their policy regarding domestic violence incidents.
