Suspect arrested in Coventry burglary

COVENTRY — Vermont State Police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a burglary at an excavation business in Coventry that occurred early Saturday morning.

Christopher Coderre of Newport Center was taken into custody Monday after troopers recovered stolen property from residences in Irasburg and North Troy, police said.

The burglary at SSXcavating on Vermont Route 105 was reported to authorities at 7:46 a.m. Monday.

Initial investigation revealed the break-in happened around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

A welder, radio and miscellaneous tools were stolen from the business, troopers said.

Coderre was processed at the Derby barracks and released with a citation to appear in court.

He faces burglary charges and was given court-ordered conditions of release, police said.

Authorities did not disclose the total value of the stolen items or provide details on how Coderre was identified as a suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
