NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred early Tuesday morning, with one suspect identified and being sought for arrest.
At approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the intersection of Summer and Weld streets.
They found damage to a window of a Summer Street residence but no injuries were reported.
Around the same time, police were called to a Yale Street residence for a report of a man with a gun.
Investigators determined that Alfredo Loya, 22, allegedly fired a weapon at the residence before fleeing the scene.
Loya, who already has multiple active warrants, is now wanted on additional charges related to the Yale Street incident.
The New Bedford Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shootings or Loya’s whereabouts to contact them.
Anonymous tips can be submitted through the department’s website or by calling 508-99-CRIME.
Detectives are continuing to investigate both incidents.
