Driver injured in single-vehicle crash on Route 103 in Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY — A Middlebury man sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 103 in Shrewsbury on Monday afternoon.

Nathan Paquette, 45, was driving north on Route 103 at approximately 12:48 p.m. when he swerved to avoid debris in the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.

Paquette lost control of his 2020 Ram 2500 pickup truck, which was towing an enclosed trailer, and veered off the road about a mile north of Spring Lake Road.

The vehicle was totaled in the crash.

Paquette, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

At the time of the incident, road conditions were wet and the weather was cloudy.

The Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to the scene and were assisted by the Shrewsbury Fire Department, ADA Traffic Control, Regional Ambulance Service, Howe Center Auto, and Carrara’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
