Concord man arrested for assault, domestic violence

CONCORD — A Concord man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting two people, including a household member, on Monday evening.

Frank Harris, 36, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and first-degree aggravated domestic assault following an incident on George Street, state police said.

Troopers responded to reports of a physical altercation at approximately 7:29 p.m. Their investigation determined that Harris had allegedly assaulted Matthew Smith, 56, also of Concord.

Harris is also accused of committing first-degree aggravated domestic assault against an unidentified household member.

Following his arrest, Harris was transported to the Vermont State Police barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing.

He was ordered held without bail.

Harris is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He was subsequently transported to Northeast Correctional Complex.
