WORCESTER — A one-year-old girl is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on Lincoln Street in Worcester, officials said Tuesday.
Worcester police officers responded to a report of a child hit by a car near 243 Lincoln St. at 9:36 p.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, they found a female toddler who had run into the street and been struck by a vehicle, according to the Worcester Police Department.
A nurse at the scene, along with firefighters and police officers, provided immediate medical assistance until an ambulance arrived to transport the child to a local hospital.
The girl is being treated for a head injury and is in stable condition, police said.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
No further details about the driver or potential charges have been released.
