AUBURN — A 34-year-old Worcester man has been indicted for allegedly stealing over $4,500 from his employer in Auburn during June 2023.

Craig Bellemare was arraigned in Worcester Superior Court on May 1 on charges of larceny over $1,200, following a grand jury indictment in February.

The investigation began in July when an Auburn business owner reported suspected theft by an employee to local police.

Detectives reviewed transaction records and security footage, which allegedly showed Bellemare concealing cash throughout multiple shifts in June.

Police say evidence suggests larger amounts may have been stolen in previous months of 2023.

The case was presented to a Worcester County grand jury in February, resulting in Bellemare’s indictment.
