Rutland woman arrested for theft at Home Depot

RUTLAND — A 44-year-old Rutland City woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly stealing electronics from a Home Depot store and fleeing from police.

Vermont State Police responded to a call about a theft at the Home Depot in Rutland Town at approximately 7 p.m. on June 23.

The suspect, identified as Lori Anne Barbour, had left the store on foot.

Troopers located Barbour walking on U.S. Route 4 near Vermont Bedrooms.

When ordered to stop, she fled but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

The stolen items were returned to Home Depot.

Barbour was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

Barbour was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division, at a later date on charges of possession of stolen property.
