ANDOVER — A New Hampshire man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of domestic assault at a Vermont campground, state police said.
Gary Alan Ferland, 62, of Charlestown, N.H., was taken into custody at Horseshoe Acres Campground in Andover after police responded to a report of a physical altercation at 5 p.m.
Investigators determined Ferland had allegedly assaulted a family member at his campsite, according to Vermont State Police.
Ferland was arrested on suspicion of first-degree aggravated domestic assault.
He was processed at the Westminster Barracks and held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, at 8:30 a.m. Monday to answer the charge.
The campground is located at 1978 Weston Andover Road in Windsor County.
