HAMDEN — A two-car collision Friday sent one vehicle crashing into a house, injuring three people and damaging the building’s foundation, officials said.

The Hamden Fire Department responded to the intersection of Circular and Pearl streets at 11:58 a.m. after reports of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Firefighters arrived to find two heavily damaged cars, with one vehicle lodged in the side of a house.

Three patients were treated at the scene by fire department personnel and transported to area hospitals by American Medical Response ambulances.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The Hamden building inspector was called to assess damage to the house.

Emergency shoring procedures were conducted to stabilize the structure before a tow company removed the vehicle.

Multiple fire department units responded, including Engine 2, Rescue 2, Squad 1, and Rescue 1.

Hamden police also assisted at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
