Pawtucket woman among six arrested by RI state police in multiple incidents

LINCOLN — State Troopers conducted a series of arrests following traffic stops and investigations, apprehending individuals on various charges including driving with a suspended license, firearm possession, and DUI.

At 10:04 a.m., Idilene Brito, 26, of Pawtucket, was arrested for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference related to an original charge of driving with a suspended license.

The arrest occurred after a vehicle stop on Moshassuck Valley Industrial Highway.

Brito was processed and taken to Sixth District Court.

Shawn Merilan, 21, also from Pawtucket, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. on Route 146 North in Providence for carrying a pistol without a permit and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Merilan faced arraignment and a bail violation presentation at Sixth District Court.

Later that afternoon, at 5:06 p.m., James Nason, 69, of Providence, was taken into custody following a motor vehicle collision on Old Louisquisset Pike.

Nason was charged with DUI, processed, and released to a responsible adult.

Mark Gaye, 39, of Providence, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. on Eddy Street for DUI.

After being processed and arraigned, Gaye was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

In the early hours of the following day, Keven Furtado, 28, of Pawtucket, faced an obstruction charge after a stop on Fairlawn Street.

Furtado was held overnight as a bail violator.

Andrew Roberts, 37, of Providence, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. on a Family Court warrant following a stop on Route 95.

Roberts was processed and transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution.
