SUNAPEE — A high-speed motorcycle chase through Sunapee ended in a crash and the arrest of a Georges Mills man on June 19.
Sgt. Nicholas Boisvert of the Sunapee Police Department spotted a motorcycle speeding eastbound on Route 11 near Lower Main Street at 6:40 p.m.
The rider, identified as 32-year-old Tyler Dodge, allegedly accelerated to evade police, leading to a pursuit that stretched to New London.
During the chase, Dodge reportedly drove into the opposite lane, nearly causing head-on collisions with oncoming traffic.
The pursuit ended when his motorcycle’s rear tire blew out, and he lost control at the I-89 Exit 12 southbound on-ramp.
Dodge was apprehended and taken to New London Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.
He was processed, bailed at approximately 8:30 p.m., and released to hospital staff, with an arraignment set for Aug. 13 at the 5th Circuit Court in Newport.
He faces charges including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, driving after revocation/suspension, speeding, misuse of plates, operating an unregistered vehicle, and operating a motorcycle without a license.
