MANCHESTER — Manchester Police have arrested Terry Dow, the owner of a local gym, on charges of assaulting a juvenile girl.

Authorities began investigating Dow, 51, after the Department for Children, Youth and Families sent a letter to the police in May.

The letter claimed Dow, who operates The Training Station on 200 Elm St., had brought the girl to the gym under the pretense of volunteering.

While at the facility, Dow followed the girl into the women’s locker room and inappropriately touched her, according to the police report.

He then instructed the girl not to disclose the incident to her parents.

Despite this, the victim reported the assault to trusted adults on the same day.

The subsequent police investigation concluded that Dow’s actions constituted assault.

Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest, charging him with one count of Felonious Sexual Assault and one count of Simple Assault.

Dow surrendered to the Manchester Police on June 20 and was released on bail later that day.

His court date and further details regarding the case have not yet been released.
