Greenwich man arrested for possession of child pornography

GREENWICH — Greenwich Police Department detectives have arrested a local man on charges related to child pornography following a comprehensive investigation that began in December.

Authorities executed a search warrant on June 19 at the residence of Joseph R.

Calabria, 38 High Street, leading to his arrest for first-degree possession of child pornography, a violation of C.G.S 53a-196e.

The Special Victims Section detectives had been alerted to an IP address in Greenwich downloading child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

The investigation, still active, has not identified any local victims related to this case.

The Greenwich Police Department acknowledged the assistance of several law enforcement agencies, including the FBI Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Connecticut State Police Electronic Surveillance Unit and K-9 Unit, the Stamford Police Detective Bureau, and the Westport Police Detective Bureau, in the ongoing efforts to combat child sexual abuse material-related crimes.

The arrest underscores the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies to protect children and prosecute those involved in the distribution and possession of child pornography.
