Body found in Westfield River, no foul play suspected

WEST SPRINGFIELD — Authorities were called to the Westfield River near Front Street by the fish ladder at around 2 p.m. after an unresponsive male was discovered in the water.

West Springfield Police Department patrol officers and detectives arrived on the scene, accompanied by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office.

While the investigation remains active, officials have indicated that foul play is not suspected at this time.
