COLCHESTER — A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 89 resulted in minor damages and a citation for a Fairfield man early Thursday morning.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash at mile marker 100.6 on I-89 south near Colchester at around 7:51 a.m.

According to authorities, Dylan Chagnon, 33, of Fairfield, was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger when he rear-ended a 2014 Dodge Dart operated by Sierra Camley, 29, of St. Albans.

The incident occurred in clear weather and on dry road conditions.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no injuries were reported.

An investigation revealed that Chagnon had been following Camley too closely in congested traffic, which had built up due to a broken-down tractor-trailer.

Chagnon’s vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, while Camley’s vehicle incurred heavy rear-end damage.

I-89 was reduced to one lane until Chagnon’s Ford Ranger was cleared from the roadway by TDI Repair & Towing.
