Two injured in cliff fall near Lamoille Valley Rail Trail

ST. JOHNSBURY — Two local residents were injured late Saturday night after falling from a cliff near the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail in St. Johnsbury.

Ashley Becker, 32, and Alex Becker, 36, of St. Johnsbury, suffered serious and critical injuries, respectively, following a fall of approximately 25 to 30 feet near a homeless encampment.

The incident occurred at around 11:20 p.m.

Vermont State Police are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the fall.

Both individuals are reported to be stable at this time.

Emergency responders from CALEX, alongside St. Johnsbury Police and Fire Departments, worked to extricate the injured parties from the base of the cliff to awaiting ambulances.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Vermont State Police.
