KILLINGTON — A multiple-vehicle collision at the intersection of US Route 4 and Killington Road resulted in extensive vehicle damage and minor injuries on June 20.

Vermont State Police responded to the crash at 1:04 p.m. after reports that a 2018 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Michael Wolff, 76, of Corinth, had rear-ended a 2023 Mazda CX-50 operated by Martin Floreani, 44, from Driftwood, TX, who was slowing down for a construction zone on the eastbound lane.

The impact pushed both vehicles off the road and into an unoccupied Markowski Excavating truck parked nearby.

Wolff’s vehicle was totaled, and Floreani’s Mazda sustained severe damage to both the front and rear ends.

Floreani was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither driver was injured seriously, thanks in part to the use of seat belts.

The Markowski Excavating vehicle, a 2016 Ford F350, was struck on its rear quarter panel.

There were no occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Killington Fire Department, Killington First Response, Regional Ambulance Service, Killington Auto, and Hop To It Towing assisted at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
