SOMERVILLE — Police in Somerville are investigating a string of assaults and a residential breaking and entering that occurred over a span of three days, with multiple victims reporting varying degrees of injury and unlawful intrusions.
On June 13 at about 2:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on Innerbelt Road after receiving a report of a past breaking and entering.
The reporting party indicated that an unauthorized individual had gained entry to the mechanical room and appeared to have been living there.
No items were reported missing from the premises.
Later the same day, at approximately 7:39 p.m., authorities responded to a call on Cypress Street where a juvenile reported being assaulted earlier by another juvenile.
The victim sustained minor injuries from the attack.
The day prior, on June 12 around 5:26 p.m., Somerville Police attended to an incident on Sewall Street where a female victim reported being assaulted outside her residence.
The perpetrator, described also as a female, allegedly began yelling at the victim before pushing a shopping cart into her.
Another assault was reported on June 14 at about 6:07 p.m. on Walnut Street.
The victim told officers that while at Leathers Park, she was accosted by a female and, as she attempted to walk away, was punched repeatedly by the suspect and a group of other females.
Apart from these assaults, Somerville Police are addressing a spate of other crimes including five motor vehicle thefts, two acts of vandalism, three motor vehicle vandalisms, and three car break-ins.
The investigations into these incidents are ongoing, and the police are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in their inquiries.
