Somerset police seek help identifying U-Haul driver after shoplifting incident

SOMERSET — Somerset Police Department reported another shoplifting event at the local Home Depot today, marking a continued trend in retail thefts.

Loss prevention personnel attempted to detain and identify the suspect, but the individual managed to escape before being apprehended.

The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a small U-Haul truck driven by another male, initiating a police pursuit.

The chase extended into Fall River, ending in the Brightman Street area where the vehicle was eventually found deserted.

Through diligent investigative work, authorities were able to identify the shoplifter.

However, the driver remains at large.

Investigators have released images of the male driver, who is notable for a distinctive large cross tattoo on his right ankle.

Somerset Police Department is requesting public assistance to identify the driver of the U-Haul.

Officer William Goodale urges anyone with information on the identity of the male in the photographs to come forward and provide assistance to the ongoing investigation.
