BOSTON — Boston Police Department officers apprehended a suspect for firearm and drug offenses in the Roxbury neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

At about 2:30 a.m., officers from District B-2 responded to a shot spotter activation near Weaver Court and Weaver Way.

They were informed that two black SUVs had left the area heading towards Columbus Avenue.

The officers located one of the vehicles on Academy Road and spotted an individual, later identified as Kamari Miller, 25, of Boston, walking away from the scene.

As officers approached, Miller turned and began walking towards them, only to reverse direction when the officers activated their emergency lights and sirens.

The officers stopped Miller and noticed he was holding a bucket hat containing an item.

A pat frisk revealed a ghost gun with a round in the chamber and two rounds in the magazine concealed inside the hat.

Further search led to the recovery of a plastic bag with fentanyl, two bags with crack cocaine, and four gabapentin pills from Miller.

Miller faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A and B drugs.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Roxbury District Court.
