BOSTON — Boston Police Department detectives, in coordination with several other law enforcement agencies, have arrested 16 suspects on charges related to sex crimes following a two-week operation targeting human trafficking and internet crimes against children.
The operation, led by the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Unit, and the Lynn Police Department, also resulted in summonses for 20 additional suspects on sex-related charges.
Among the arrested, Shawn Hennessey, 45, from Dorchester, faces multiple charges including enticement of a child under 16 and trafficking of methamphetamine and GHB.
He is due for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
In a similar vein, Swanand Koli, 38, of Boston, Rahul Tiwari, 30, of Everett, Jose Abad Santos, 44, of Auburn, New Hampshire, and several others face charges that include the enticement of a child under 16, sexual conduct for a fee, and attempted rape of a child.
These individuals are expected to be arraigned in Charlestown District Court, with the exception of Rosevelt Alves, 42, of Stoughton, and Dylan Crowley, 29, of Everett, who will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
Several individuals from Lynn, including Roberto Baez, 49, George Dolo, 69, and others, have been charged with sexual conduct for a fee and are slated for arraignment in Lynn District Court.
This collaborative investigation underscores the ongoing efforts to combat sex crimes in the region, particularly those involving children.
Boston Police continue to work diligently to bring those engaged in these illegal activities to justice, as evidenced by the arrests and summonses issued in this operation.
Detectives will be seeking criminal complaints against the twenty other suspects implicated in sex-related crimes as the investigation continues.
