Calais man arrested for threatening worker with wooden plank

CALAIS — Vermont State Police arrested a local man Tuesday morning after he allegedly threatened a worker with a piece of lumber during a neighborhood dispute.

Authorities were called to a residence on Fellows Road at 11:48 a.m. by Lucas Bicrni, 31, of Windsor Lock, Connecticut, who reported a confrontation involving two neighbors and himself.

Upon arrival, troopers separated the involved parties without further incident.

The investigation revealed that Tyler Austin, 27, of Calais, had brandished a 2×6 piece of wood in a threatening manner towards Bicrni.

Austin was subsequently taken into custody and processed at the Berlin Barracks.

Following the incident, Austin was released with a citation and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court on July 11 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of criminal threatening.
