WORCESTER — Officers of the Worcester Vice Squad arrested five individuals for drug offenses during an operation near the intersection of Main and King St. on June 17.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., vice squad officers observed a group congregated in an alcove, where one man appeared to be smoking from a crack pipe.
As the officers approached the group, Lillian Salgado, a 46-year-old Worcester resident, attempted to escape the scene but was quickly detained by the pursuing officers.
Upon her detention, Salgado was found to be in possession of twelve bags containing substances believed to be fentanyl and crack cocaine.
She was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance, and Resisting Arrest.
In addition to Salgado’s arrest, four other individuals were taken into custody on charges related to possession of controlled substances and outstanding arrest warrants.
The Worcester Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is committed to addressing drug-related activities in the city.
