Man survives jump from bridge, rescued from creek in Pittsford

PITTSFORD — At about 10:50 a.m. Monday, state troopers from the Rutland Barracks were called to U.S. Route 7 near Colburn Lane after receiving reports of a man who had jumped off a bridge.

Upon arrival, the state police, in coordination with the Pittsford Police Department, found the man conscious and alert in the creek below the bridge.

Emergency responders provided immediate on-scene care for the man’s injuries.

He was subsequently transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire for further treatment.

The response to the incident included assistance from Pittsford First Response, the Rutland City Fire Department, and Regional Ambulance Service.

During the operation, a section of U.S. Route 7 was temporarily closed to traffic.

Authorities have stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious or criminal.

The man’s identity has not been released, and no additional information regarding the incident or his condition has been made available.
