HAMPTON — Hampton Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in locating a suspect linked to a spree of thefts, including vehicle and firearm thefts, in the town of Hampton.

The thefts occurred between June 10 and June 15, when two vehicles were reported stolen from local residences.

Both vehicles were recovered shortly after the thefts were reported.

On June 16, it was discovered that two firearms had been stolen from another vehicle.

After a swift investigation, Hampton Police identified 22-year-old James Roland Dustin of Hampton as the suspect.

On June 17, the department, along with the Seacoast Emergency Response Team, executed a high-risk arrest and search warrant at Dustin’s residence at 515 Winnacunnet Rd.

Dustin evaded capture and remains at large.

He faces three felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking.

One of the stolen firearms has been recovered; however, Dustin is believed to still possess the other.

Described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes, and “JD” tattooed under his left eye, Dustin lacks a permanent address and is known to frequent the New Hampshire and Massachusetts seacoast areas.

Dustin should be considered armed, and the public is cautioned not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.

The Hampton Police Department is actively investigating the case and additional charges may be filed.

The department also reminds residents to lock their vehicles and securely store firearms and valuables.
