SHIRLEY — A resident on Peabody Road reported an attempted break-in early this morning after their Ring camera system captured footage of an unidentified individual trying to open their car door at 3:30 a.m.

According to the Shirley Police Department, the vehicle was locked at the time of the incident, and no items were reported stolen.

However, the suspect’s face was obscured by a tree limb in the camera’s view, preventing a clear identification.

The police department is using this incident to remind residents to secure their vehicles and doors, and to bring any valuables inside at night.

They are also appealing to the community for assistance.

Anyone in the area with CCTV or other video footage that may have captured suspicious activity is encouraged to contact Detective Emily Vincent at 978-425-2642 or by email at [email protected].
