WEST HAVEN — West Haven Police Department officers apprehended a juvenile male armed with a loaded .380 caliber handgun during an altercation on Glade Street, authorities said Friday.
The incident occurred on June 14 at about 6:15 p.m. when officers were dispatched to address an unspecified dispute involving several youths.
En route to the scene, two officers recognized a juvenile with an outstanding robbery warrant.
Upon detaining the suspect, a loaded firearm fell from the individual’s pants.
The juvenile was taken into custody without further incident.
Following the arrest, the juvenile was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.
The West Haven Police Department is continuing its investigation into the altercation and has not released further details regarding the incident or the identity of the juvenile due to age.
