FAIRFAX — A Fairfax man was arrested late Saturday night after Vermont State Police responded to a report of an assault at a Main Street residence.

State police said they were called to 2704 Main St. at around 10:44 p.m. where they found 25-year-old Brandon Poquette actively destroying property.

An investigation determined that Poquette had assaulted 39-year-old Lyndsay Demag of St. Albans, and caused over $3,000 in damage to property belonging to two other individuals, 18-year-old Rylie Daignault and 40-year-old Kristina Daignault, both from Fairfax and Illinois respectively.

During the arrest, Poquette resisted and assaulted a law enforcement officer twice.

He was subsequently lodged at Northwest Correctional Facility with bail set at $200.

Poquette is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court to face charges of simple assault, two counts of unlawful mischief, resisting arrest, and two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.
