FAIRFAX — Two St. Albans women were cited on charges of false pretenses and uttering a forged instrument after allegedly attempting to cash fraudulent checks, Vermont State Police reported.

Authorities were alerted to the incident on May 26 when Jill Robitaille, 60, of Fairfax, reported that checks were being cashed in her name without her authorization.

The investigation identified Kali Bilodeau, 39, and Holly Millette, 43, both from St. Albans, as the suspects in the case.

According to police, Bilodeau obtained checks from Robitaille’s residence and filled them out illegitimately.

Bilodeau then handed the checks to Millette, who proceeded to cash them.

The police located both Bilodeau and Millette and issued citations.

Both women are scheduled to appear in Franklin County Court on July 23 at 8:30 a.m. to face the charges.
