WATERFORD — A single-vehicle accident on June 14 led to the arrest of a Waterford man on charges of driving under the influence, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers were called to the scene around 8:08 p.m. after reports of a crash at 1765 VT-18.

They found a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado off the road and on its side.

The driver, identified as Joseph Healy, 56, was trapped but uninjured.

Healy was traveling northeast when he lost control at high speed, struck a telephone pole, and rolled his truck, which came to rest facing southwest.

The vehicle was totaled.

Troopers noted signs of impairment in Healy, and after conducting sobriety tests, arrested him for DUI.

He was processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks and cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on July 1 at 8:30 a.m.

The Waterford Fire Department, CALEX Ambulance Crew, and Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department assisted at the scene.
