Campton police report 714 calls, 8 arrests in May

CAMPTON — The Campton Police Department recorded a bustling month with 714 calls for service from May 1 to May 31, resulting in a total of eight arrests, officials reported.

Among those arrested was a 38-year-old woman on NH Route 49 for possession of methamphetamine and a 41-year-old man indicted for witness tampering.

A 51-year-old woman faced charges of domestic violence assault and criminal threatening on NH Route 175, while a 31-year-old woman was arrested on Six Flags Road for violating a protective order.

Other police actions included the arrest of a 19-year-old male for indirect criminal contempt of court and a 51-year-old woman, also on NH Route 175, for misuse of 911 services.

A 34-year-old male was taken into custody for bail jumping, with the original offenses including taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving after suspension.

Additionally, a 26-year-old male was summoned to court for exceeding the weight limitation on the Blair Covered Bridge.

Traffic enforcement was also a focus for Campton Police, as they conducted 101 motor vehicle stops, resulting in 91 warnings and 10 citations.

Officers also responded to five motor vehicle crashes during the month.

The Campton Police Department continues to enforce laws and ensure public safety within the community.
