WINDSOR LOCKS — A local man was taken into custody by Windsor Locks police for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and killing one of her kittens, authorities stated Thursday.

Kevin Colgan, 44, is facing multiple charges including reckless endangerment, assault, and cruelty to animals.

Colgan was apprehended in Hartford on a warrant last week, according to Det. Sgt. Jeff Lampson.

He is currently held on a $100,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on June 24, as per the state judicial website.

The address listed on Colgan’s arrest warrant is the same residence where another violent incident occurred on May 26.

The Windsor Locks house, referred to by police as a drug- and crime-infested “flop house,” was the scene where a man sustained injuries after being stabbed and slashed with a broken crack pipe.

Bryam Enrique Henriquez, 30, also from Windsor Locks, faces a second-degree assault charge for that altercation.
