SOUTHINGTON — A collision involving a car and a cyclist occurred Thursday night near Shoprite Plaza, resulting in minor injuries for the bicyclist.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Southington police, fire, and A.M.R. responded to the incident at 785 Queen Street.
Cyniece Cruz-Soto, 37, of Waterbury, was making a right turn in her 2005 Ford Explorer from the parking lot onto Queen Street when she struck a 21-year-old cyclist from Bristol.
The cyclist, who was traveling northbound on the sidewalk, entered the intersection and collided with the vehicle’s front right headlight.
Despite the crash, the cyclist remained conscious and alert, suffering what appeared to be minor injuries.
He was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
