ORRINGTON — A local man was charged with operating under the influence early Thursday morning after crashing his vehicle into a garage and striking another vehicle inside.
Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from the Penobscot Regional Communications Center at about 2:12 a.m., reporting a personal injury crash on Cleveland Ave.
Upon arrival, deputies found a vehicle that had caused significant structural damage to a garage as well as functional damage to a vehicle inside.
Paul Meservey, 20, of Orrington, was identified as the driver.
He was charged with Operating Under the Influence, a Class D misdemeanor, and Operating Beyond License Restrictions, a Class E misdemeanor, following the investigation.
Meservey sustained minor injuries in the incident, but no other injuries were reported.
The Orrington Fire Department also responded to the scene to assist the Sheriff’s Office.
