Milford shooting linked to drug activity, victim uncooperative

1 min read

MILFORD — A man sustained a grazing wound to the head after a shooting incident at a Milford residence late last night, authorities reported.

Milford Police Department officers arrived at 26C Gulf Street at 10:39 p.m. following reports of the shooting.

The victim was hit by a shot fired from outside through a second-story window.

After being transported to Bridgeport Hospital, the victim received treatment and was subsequently released.

As the investigation unfolded, detectives at the scene uncovered evidence of substantial drug activity.

A search warrant led to the seizure of over 75 pounds of marijuana, along with a scale, a currency counting machine, and a loaded Glock pistol with a defaced serial number found between couch cushions.

Despite the victim’s lack of cooperation with law enforcement, detectives have surmised that two perpetrators, believed to have fled in separate vehicles, are involved.

One vehicle is associated with an acquaintance of the victim and is described as a newer model black Mercedes Benz crossover, possibly a GLE model.

Investigators, including members of the Crime Scene Unit, continue their search and assert that this was an isolated incident without ongoing threat to the public.

The Milford Police Department urges anyone with information to contact Detective Zachary Milslagle at (203) 783-4730.

Further updates on the case will be provided as they become available.
